base2stay™ - the concept
'a synthesis of budget and boutique hotels with serviced apartments'
the vision for base2stay™ came from our collective experiences of staying in hotels all over the world, from the very best all the way to pared down serviced apartments. in this wide and varied mix, we felt there was a need that wasn't being properly catered for, a product that was missing in the marketplace.
we were looking for something that combined the ease of booking into a hotel, with the flexibility of a serviced apartment or apart hotel, whether you are staying for a day or a month.
we came up with a synthesis of elements that are at the core of base2stay™ for those travellers who value their independence, who want style without having to compromise but have a budget to keep to.
base2stay™ has been created to offer these travellers a new alternative, combining convenience and technology, location with comfort and all based on clear, transparent value. as part of this we wanted to eliminate, where possible, many of the minor irritations of staying at a hotel - insufficient power points, nowhere to put your suitcase or wash-bag, and worst of all, the cost and limitation of hotel services but we didn't want to compromise on style, whilst still offering exceptional value.
base2stay™ achieves this by 'editing out' many of the 'discretionary' and rarely used hotel extras, concentrating on what hotel guests want to find when they get to their room. so base2stay's air-conditioned interior-designed rooms offer high quality IT including flat screen tv's with free internet access as well as high speed vpn broadband, ample power points (with european 220v), convenient workspace and storage cleverly designed under beds. bathrooms have fully tiled power showers, baths or wet rooms, with plenty of space for toiletries.
we wanted to give guests choice, independence and control over what, how and when they eat, so every room has a mini kitchen with microwave, kettle & fridge. you're not reliant on expensive or limited room service. you can use the base2stay™ directory to find the services of local providers without the hotel mark-up, or your own local favourite or recommendation - there are no limits. at base2stay™, it's as quick and easy to access these services as if they were offered as part of the hotel, only with far more choice and control over costs.
location was another key element to the project. we needed to be in an area that, as well as being attractive, allowed guests easy access to transport, entertainment and all the local services that make base2stay™ a great place to stay. courtfield gardens, between gloucester road and earls court, offers all of this and will appeal to both the business and leisure traveller.
base2stay™ is about giving the guest choices, so that less is truly more. we call this our 'edited service' format, an evolution in what hotels, aparthotels and serviced apartments can offer, combining style, flexibility, technology and incredible value.
