From train stations
There are 2 main train stations in Liverpool:
Liverpool Lime Street is near to the City Centre and Liverpool South Parkway is located close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
From Liverpool Lime Street, you can easily walk to base2stay Liverpool. When exiting the station turn left, at the first main road cross and turn right into Ranelagh Street, walk down and before the Tesco turn left into Seel Street – you will find us further up on the left hand side.
From Liverpool South Parkway you can catch a direct train to Liverpool Lime Street from stop LPY.
From bus terminals
Once in Liverpool, you can easily explore and travel around the City by using buses - Liverpool does not have an underground system.
The two main city centre bus terminals are Liverpool ONE and Queen Square, where you can catch most buses towards all the major destinations. Merseyrail service manages the entire bus network. From Liverpool ONE, walk into Hanover Street towards Lime Street and turn right into Seel Street.
From Queen Square bus terminal you can reach Seel Street on foot in approximately 15 mins. Walk into Whitechapel Road (heading south) turn left into College Lane and keep walking straight onto Seel Street.
From the airport
You can fly to Liverpool to John Lennon Airport, located only 9 miles from Liverpool city centre. Once at the airport you can reach the city centre by catching regular buses: 86A, 80A, 82Ab which arrive at the main Liverpool One Bus Terminal, a 5 minute walk from the hotel (see above).
From the Cruise terminal
You can also arrive in Liverpool along the River Mersey.
The Cruise Terminal is located on Liverpool Waterfront, part of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the Waterfront, you can walk to Seel Street in about 20mins or catch a taxi.
We are more than happy to keep your bags at the hotel while you drop your car at the Q Car Park. *If using a SatNav please enter L1 4AF as a postcode which will take you directly to the car park.
Please be aware that Seel Street has recently been designated as a one-way street, which may not show on some SatNavs, and now runs west from Berry Street to Hanover Street.
The best way to reach Q-Park by car from the hotel is by driving west (right out of the hotel) down Seel Street, turning left into David Lewis Street and turning right at the bottom into Gradwell Street. At the end of the road, turn right onto Hanover Street and the entrance to the car park will be on your right.
On the way back from the car park to the hotel, turn left out of the Q park into Hanover Street, immediately left into Gradwell Street. Follow the road which becomes Parr Street. Carry on to the end of the road until you reach Colquitt Street. Turn left and take the first left again and you will find yourself on Seel Street.
The base2stay Liverpool hotel is situated in the heart of Liverpool’s authentic, urban cool RopeWalks village, next to the Liverpool One Shopping Centre, and amongst some of the trendiest restaurants, bars and clubs in the city. With train times just over 2hrs direct from London Euston, there has never been a better time to visit the city.
The RopeWalks, part of which lies within the UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to much of Liverpool’s history and culture, including the oldest Chinatown in Europe, FACT and the well-known entertainment areas around Concert Square.
The RopeWalks, like London’s Shoreditch or New York’s Meatpacking District, is Liverpool’s Design Quarter where you will find an eclectic mix of old and new, traditional and modern.
Most of all, the RopeWalks enjoys what Benji Lanyado, writing in the New York Times, described as “that most heady of urban ingredients: an edge".
Whether you are visiting Liverpool city centre for a conference, business, a weekend or city break or for the football and clubs, many of Liverpool’s main points of interest are within walking distance of the hotel:
