Sporting Events
Liverpool is the most successful footballing city in England. Together with the Grand National, the most famous steeplechase in the world which takes place at Aintree each year, Liverpool has a huge range of attraction for sports fans.
Merseyside also has over 40 golf courses, including three Royal golf courses. July will see Royal Lytham and St Anne's renowned course playing host to the British Open 2012. Other courses include the Royal Liverpool which hosted the Open in 2006, and Birkdale which was the venue for the 2008 Open.
