    “Anfield”
base2stay was perfect for a trip to a Liverpool soccer game!  It's in a great part of the city and the trip to Anfield was easy!  The hotel itself is very sleek and modern....and crisp and clean!  However, the staff is what made my stay so enjoyable.  Everyone I came in contact with was friendly and helpful.  Two staff members that stood out were Darrin and Caroline!  I would return to this location because of them and the flawless property.

    “Eager to stay”
My family will be staying at base2stay Liverpool next week.  The staff has answered all our emails promptly as we have questions prior to visit.  We found out each room has a hair dryer and we got a weather report. That is above and beyond the call of duty - to answer little questions like that.  We are scheduled to have adjoining rooms-something many places don't promise before arrival.  The responses are always prompt and very friendly.  I can't wait to thank the staff in person for the great pre-stay service!

“£59 for a City Centre hotel thats really nice. Unbealievable!”
Firstly location.  Everything you need (with the esception of football grounds) is within a 5-10 minute walk.  Shops and bars/restuarants are on your doorstep, the Albert Dock is 10 mins away.  The building is a converted factory so think of lots of exposed brick, big windows etc.. right up my street anyway.  Rooms are modern, clean, and have a luxury feel even with a low price tag.  I was in 212 which was a perfectly good size for 1-2 people.  You get wi-fi if you're doing some work, but there's no breakfast.....perhaps just go 2 mins down the road for something instead.  You can also park 2 mins away in the Qpark which cost me £6 for overnight.  Overall, its incredible value, a very nice hotel......i'll go back.

    “Great Budget hotel”
Stayed here in early July 2011.  Liked it so much we booked for next year and booked the London base2stay as well.  We were in a larger room with the twin set up.  The rooms were clean and seemed really nice for a budget hotel.  Much nicer than the Premier Inns we'd stayed in in London.  The front desk was helpful, the hotel was quiet, and the room was lovely.  The kitchenette was great, and our dishes were cleaned every day.  Close to all major sights, lots of restaurants and a couple of grocery stores to stock the fridge.

“Amazing value in the heart of Liverpool”
I have visited Liverpool about half a dozen times with my family for a minimum of 2 nights each time.  We have tried various self catering apartments and hotels, including the exclusive Hard Days Night.  However none of them come close to offering the convenience, modern style, friendliness and cleanliness of the base2stay hotel in Liverpool.  The whole experience was 10/10 for us.  The online booking, reception staff, the additional bed we requested - everything was dealt with efficiently and in the best possible manner.  I can't recommend the hotel highly enough.  It's in the heart of Liverpool - really close to Lime Street Rail, Liverpool One shops and the Albert Dock, for a bit of culture.  The hotel is modern, clean and stylish.  We even had a little kitchenette hidden away in a cupboard in our room, so we had the option to rustle up a little of our own food if we so desired.  I would have expected these standards from somewhere that cost double what we paid.  Room Tip: The 4th and 5th floors offer more original features from the warehouse conversion... Apparently the hotel is a converted old rope factory.

    “Excellent place to stay”
Excellent hotel booked at last minute... Close to everything in Liverpool especially for us as first time visitors.  Staff were friendly courteous and extremely helpful.  From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was perfect... only a 2 minute walk from shops pubs and main shopping district... 5 minutes down to albert dock this place couldnt be any more convienient.  Rooms are basic but have a mini kitchen (microwave) for doing a bit of home cooking... Overall great place to stay highly recommend to anyone...

What a wonderful place.  We had a 6 night stay here and could not fault this hotel.  All the facilities are great.  Great location.  Easy access wi-fi.  Very comfortable beds.  But what made our stay was the amazing staff.  They went out of their way to help us and always greeted us with a smile on our numerous trips back and forth!  Thank you so much to all the team at the base2stay.

“When in liverpool would stay here!”
Stayed for the night, staff great, talkative and very helpful.  Rooms so clean and fresh feeling and a great feeling of being wanted and the cost you would not believe, it not just clean, everything in the room is included in the price, Wi-Fi, coffee, the wee kitchen area is a revalation just use and then shut it away behind the door simple but effective the hotel has a great feeling.  Had a great meal in china town, downside to close to the shops spent a fortune!

    “No better "Base2Stay" in Liverpool”

We stayed here for two nights for the weekend of our wedding in Liverpool. Base2Stay was the icing on the cake of a beautiful weekend. We chose the best city in the world to get married. . . . . . . . every step of the way, we were met by the kindest, friendliest people on the planet. Thank you Liverpool.
Back to the hotel review .......... This place is fantastic. The rooms are gorgeous. Cleanliness of room and bathroom are like no other place I've stayed in - fabulous!
The VERY BEST THING ABOUT THE HOTEL IS THE STAFF. What a great bunch of people. They found out we were getting married and next time we passed reception, we were handed a card. The girl that tidied our room left a little good luck note.
We were lucky enough to meet "the big boss" in reception who enquired about how we were enjoying our stay. When he found out we were getting married that afternoon, he directed the staff on reception to put a little something in our room. Next time we went upstairs, there was a bottle of bubbly in a bucket and some mixers and a couple of champagne glasses.
Thanks Base2Stay for a great stay.
If you're reading this review, don't look anywhere else to stay - just get it booked. You will not be disappointed. We'll be there very soon when we fancy a stopover in town.
    Thanks.......................Jan and John Doran

    “Excellent place to stay !!”

I stayed here for 1 night , had a room on the 2nd floor.
The room was very modern and had excellent facilities. The mini kitchen was ideal as no restaurant or bar on site. The hotel is very close to a tesco so you can buy food / drink from there or a few minutes walk away are the shops including Liverpool ONE.
The staff were very helpful and booked a taxi for us.
I cant fault the customer service!
I would stay again without a doubt.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very helpful with luggage problems. The location is perfect because it is near Liverpool One and Albert Dock. The Main Station is also nearby. The room is equiped with a kitchenette, free Wi-Fi, movies on-demand are inexpensive and the lobby offers free coffee at any time.

    “Don't change a thing”

WOW!!!!!! This place is just fantastic and I have to say to the staff of Base2stay - keep up the good work that you are doing, as this place is just amazing.
All the amenities are there if you choose not to eat out - with a microwave, fridge and mini kitchenette provided along with plates, cutlery and glasses - perfect as when travelling for an extended period of time you do get sick of eating out all the time so this is ideal.
We could not fault this place. The staff were friendly and interested in our travels, always helpful when we wanted to know something - keep up the great job that you are doing with your customers. The place is immaculant and modern and also reasonably priced as well - this is definately the place to stay if in Liverpool. Centrally located and within walking distances to the main shopping area, train station and all the local bars around the area. Grocery store within 5 minutes of this hotel to stock up that mini fridge - perfectation is the key word to describe this hotel. Thanks for a great stay.

From the friendly reception to the very comfy bed and great night's sleep this stay was perfect. To top it all Darren the receptionist that day recommended a Cuban restaurant which was superb...

    “Great place”

We stayed here for one night and wished it was longer! We had a great room on the 4th floor which was very stylish and roomy. We are both light sleepers and our requested "room away from the lift" was honoured and we had a very good night sleep in our room at the end of the corridor. Comfortable bed, large modern bathroom. The excellent and very helpful staff made the check in and check out a quick and pleasurable experience.
The area is very lively at night but despite being so close to the hotel didn't affect our sleep.
Great location with most things - shopping, great restaurants and bars all within walking distance.
We parked our car in the recommended Q Park which was very secure. The car parked next to us even had their window down all night! The car parking staff were also very helpful and directed us to the hotel.

“Lovely hotel in a great location”

Myself and three friends booked a quadruple room at Base2stay Liverpool for a night out last weekend. Given the really reasonable price, we were very impressed with the standard of the hotel. The location is brilliant, there are loads of bars and restaurants very close by. The hotel is very modern but a lot of the original character of the building has been retained. Everything is really clean and well-kept. The room was great, very spacious considering there were 4 of us sharing a room, and each of us had our own single bed. The room was very quiet despite the proximity to local nightlife. What really made the stay were the friendly, helpful and professional staff; they made sure we had a good overview of the local area and the very handy map was much appreciated! A great hotel, perfect for those on a night out as well as anyone wanting a lovely unique hotel at great value for money.

“base2stay - Friendly and helpful staff”

I vacationed in Liverpool in October 2011 in large part to see Liverpool FC play at Anfield. I was recommended this hotel by a friend, and I couldn't have been more pleased. The hotel is conveniently located to Liverpool One and most spots in City Centre. Huge compliments to the staff, who went out of their way to assist us in picking and finding restaurants, booking and negotiating taxi fares back to Manchester Airport, and being all around accommodating and helpful. Two of the staff that really stood out were Caroline and Darren. Rooms had a microwave, refrigerator, and silverware.

Base2stay is a quality hotel with high standards in all areas. The building itself is well designed with great attention to detail. From the checking-in process and room cleanliness through to the air conditioning and modern decor the experience was excellent during our recent stay. On top of that the hotel is ideally situated to suit all aspects of a trip to Liverpool with all amenities and tourist attractions well within walking distance. Highly recommended.

    “Perfect location”

Hotel is in a perfect location for all the main areas. Right in the heart of the nightlife but with the treble glazing its the quietest hotel room I've ever stayed in. 5 min walk from the albert dock + Liverpool 1 + 10 min walk from Lime Street station.
The mini kitchen is very useful even if you only use it to keep water and beer cool in the fridge! There is a Tesco xpress at the end of the street for supplies and the hotel are more than happy for you to bring in your own food and drink.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
There is an area off reception where you can relax, use the internet and have a nespresso.
Best security of any hotel I've been in, you need you key card to get into the hotel as well as to access the lift or staircase.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would stay in again if i revisit Liverpool.

I spent one night in Liverpool, while travelling from Paris to Wales.
This hotel is very central, just a short walk from the main bus and train stations.
The hotel is brand new, well designed, and cosy. The staff professional and nice.
The windows of our room (last floor) were sealed, which mean you can't get fresh air but at least it's sound proof (couldn't hear the music of the nearby clubs).

“Look no further for a place to stay for a w/e in Liverpool”

This is the perfect choice for a stay in Liverpool, I would look no further! Very reasonably priced, conveniently located (you can walk from the main station and to all other sights in the city), very clean, modern, and run by friendly staff (the Spanish girl - sorry I dont remember her name - was partiocularly wonderful and helpful, recommending us cool areas to visit and walk around in). It is a converted warehouse which I think fits in perfectly with the spirit of the city: cool, arty and vibrant. We stayed for one night to go to the Tate Modern for the Magritte exhibition but hope to return as the city has so much to offer. Would definitely stay here again.

    “Spot on”

I arrived very late and was pleasantly surprised by the polite, helpful reception at Base2Stay. The gentleman on the desk took my name and handled the check-in procedure for me, while I sat down on one of the comfortable chairs in the reception area, with a cup of coffee. My room - like the entire hotel - was spotlessly clean, as were the sheets and towels. The triple glazing made for a peaceful night. Last but not least, the shower was properly powerful.

“Does Not Get Better Than This”
Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend in room 414. Base2stay was worth every single penny, We have stayed in 5* hotels and received so much less. The staff are welcoming, and could not have been anymore helpful to us throughout our stay. The room was spotless, as was the rest of the hotel from what we could see, room was serviced daily, and security excellent.
Although no breakfast or bar provided here, you really won't miss them, everything is just a stones throw away. You are right in the heart of Liverpool, very noisy clubs and bars surrounding the hotel, but never heard a thing due to it's fantastic triple glazing in room, I might have been out in the sticks, we slept like babies. Shopping centre a few mins walk away (to my husbands horror)
There is only one draw back to Base2stay and it's that you have to leave!. If you are looking for a great place to stay this is the place. We will be back.

“Absolutely perfect. I will be recommending to friends - and my parents!”
I was so impressed by this hotel that I emailed reception to thank them.
I was staying in Liverpool for a friend's wedding with two other couples. When I booked the receptionist offered to place us all in adjacent rooms, which they did. The hotel is in a superb, central location, 10 minutes from the Docks and surrounded by nice bars and places to eat - but equally don't be put off by this; we couldn't hear anything that would have kept us awake.
The receptionists were extremely helpful and took our numerous requests in good humour. They offered tips for where to eat, ordered taxis and even provided an ice bucket!
The rooms were clean and furnished impeccably, with feature beams and air con. Anything you could hope for was available, including microwave, fridge, cutlery, wine glasses, tea, coffee...
Perfect. I will be recommending not only to friends, but also my parents!

The hotel is really well placed. Despite being in the centre of town you can't hear anything from your room. The rooms are lovely. Clean and modern looking. The TV allows you to access music, TV, films and gives you information about local attractions. Having a mini kitchen in your room means we could self cater as well. “Awesome hotel, very modern, very close to square, reasonable price - definately going again!”
My husband treated me to 2 nights in Liverpool and to be fair i wasnt expecting much but OMG i was pleasantly shocked when we arrived at Base2Stay. Its location couldnt be any better! We went to do some shopping and pub crawling and it was smack bang by both (behind the square where all the main pubs are and about 3minute walk down to shops). When we arrived the hotel was very modern and clean, the receptionist was very informative and very nice. The rooms - you cant ask for more, the are modern, very clean and have more than you would expect to find, the essentials of course, hairdryer and safe but it also had a little kitchen area with a kettle/tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and even a microwave (the receptionist on checking in even told us where to find the nearest supermarket - 2min walk) - i was well impressed. To top it off it had an ice despencer in the hallway which was great! The beds were very comfortable the TV system was awesome and the bathroom was really clean - i cant big this hotel up enough it was one of the best hotels i have stay at in the UK and i will be definitely recommending it to friends and family and i will definitely be revisiting it soon :)

    “Excellent, Again”
Second stay at Base2Stay, Liverpool. Can't recommend it enough.
Central location - we went clubbing in the evening and the Bars, Restaurants and Clubs are all so close to the area. The room was quiet as it is triple glazed.
Liverpool is an amazing City and Seel Street in the RopeWalks is an amazing area.
Room, we had booked a small (2 ppl) room and were surprised at the size, for a small room. The room was on the 4th Floor and had the same fantastic amenities - Internet TV, free Wifi, Hidden kitchen area, microwave, sink, safe, excellent all round.
Our room, had exposed beams and brickwork, a HUGE flat screen TV and tasteful modern luxury feel to it.
We decided not to take the option of having our breakfast delivered to our room and took a stroll down to Liverpool ONE - the shopping area, 5 minutes away , the Reception staff advised us on the different typre of breakfast places and gave us a discount voucher from base2stay to get a discount on our breakfast!
The Reception staff are so helpful. In fact all the staff are helpful at base2stay.
The Bed - luxury, cotton sheets and pillows, a fab duvet that makes you not want to get out of bed.
    Will definitely visit again.

5 to 10 minute walk from Liverpool ONE and 1 minute from Concert Square. I was concerned beforehand about the possible noise being close to Concert Square, which wasn't helped when a Taxi driver wished us luck on getting some sleep.
However no one in the group, and there was 9 of us, heard anything over the two nights we were there.
I was on a Stag do, however would be happy to take my wife to stay. The rooms were very good and more than what was required for us. However the small kitchen area and fridge in the room did come in handy.
Will defintely be back again and have already passed details to colleagues.

    “Fab hotel”
We stayed for one night for a wedding up in liverpool. Was very impressed by the hotel overall: I loved the bare-brick and monochrome style, the hotel facilities and the location just on the edge of the nice shopping area in Liverpool. Yet it is affordable too. The rooms have good sized bathrooms, plus a sink & fridge - almost a little kitchenette area.
The service was good. I would like to single out the night manager Pete - my husband knocked his head during the night (doh) and Pete came to our rescue and patched him back up. Would definitely stay here again.

“A great place to stay, we will be back”
It looked good from their website, but I think it was even better.... the staff were very friendly and welcoming, without exception. They gave suggestions on where to eat/drink and gave discount cards for some places. They provided an excellent map and helpfully marked on it some of the places we said we wanted to visit. Lunya is an excellent restuarant, tapas bar, deli, cafe, again could not fault it.
Highlight of the trip was a visit up the tower of the Anglican Cathedral which is opened especially on Thursday nights so you can see the sun setting over Liverpool, we were so lucky to have the most amazing sunset.

I didn't believe that all the great reviews I had read could be true, but they absolutely were! Don't be put off by its location, there are lots of bars and clubs around it but we felt safe walking around the area at night. It is a stones throw from Liverpool ONE which is very handy. The hotel staff are all lovely and fall over themselves to be helpful. The room was average size but immaculate and modern. The kitchenette area is great and we too took advantage of the take away breakfast which was fab. We would definately return-well done Base2stay you have got everything just right!

Stayed here for a week with my daughter while I worked nearby and she attended a course.
Very friendly and professional staff. Clean. Quiet, for a busy area (triple glazing). Would definitely stay there again for a business - sleep only - type stay. If truly on holiday I might prefer more of the usual hotel frills.

I took my son on a trip to Liverpool and we stayed here, it is located in the centre of the city so we were able to walk to most of the attractions we wanted to see. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault any part of our stay here - clean well laid out rooms. I really appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room, great when staying with children.

    “Surpassed my expectations”

The hotel was beautifully photographed on the website so I had high expectations before my arrival. My first impressions did not disappoint; the brick factory-like exterior revealing the history of this redeveloped area. Inside the lobby is a perfect fusion of original features e.g. exposed brick, and ultra-modern e.g. projected art. The reception staff were immediately welcoming, quickly checking me in and directing me to my room. The corridors continued the exposed brick theme with the door entry system detecting my access card in a similar way to my London Transport Oyster card. On this rare, sunny summer day I found the efficient but quiet air conditioning very welcome. The windows did not open which seems to be the norm for new hotels. This could be considered an environmentally friendly feature given you don’t want all the cooled air escaping out the windows! The room interior was a design masterpiece; modern with all the technology you could need. Venturing outside the hotel the local area could best be described as bustling, with bars and restaurants on every turn. The local streets however still felt safe to explore. I was determined to find something wrong so checked the room for dust in hidden corners but nothing could be found! This hotel easily surpassed my expectations and given the reasonable price was a real find.

“Lovely hotel, great location, wonderful staff”

Stayed at base2stay (Seel St, Rope Walks area). It wasn’t easy to find due to recently introduced one-way system. (Tip: park in the q-park on Hannover St near Tesco, and walk down Seel St). We really loved it and what stood out was:
    * really powerful hair dryer
    * kitchenette with full crockery etc (bring your own food and wine: no more smuggling it in!)
    * excellent (large) shower
    * free internet (by TV or laptop) in the room
    * great location, close to lots of things, in the Rope Walks quarter
    * excellent deal on parking arranged by the hotel at the local q-park
    * lovely lounge (guest area), laid back, with complimentary coffee
    * very impressed by the innovative offers that the hotel had arranged for guests (e.g. the parking and the “welcome back voucher”)

    “Excellent”

We stayed here for one night to attend the Liverpool v Valencia match. Hotel is well located, just 10 minutes walk from Lime St station, 5 minutes walk from Liverpool One. A taxi to Anfield costs about 7.40 taking around 15 minutes so its a good base for Anfield. Room was not large, but not small either. Kitchenette is an excellent idea, more hotels should do this - why some charge for putting your own items in the fridge is beyond me! WiFi worked fine. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a great hotel - very reasonably priced, in a good location with excellent staff on reception - nothing was too much trouble for them. The Nespresso machine in the lounge was an added bonus. The only down-side was the one way road system and trying to find the hotel. Sat Nav is useless and we kept going round in circles. Once we found the hotel, the staff were very helpful in showing us where to park the car. Would definitely stay there again (now we know how to find it!!).

“Rightly deserved the top hotel in Liverpool”

This is a late review for my one night stay in Oct 2010. Purposed of my first visit to Liverpool during my short holiday in England is to visit Liverpool FC since it is the club I been supporting since I was young. I chose to stay at this hotel based on the top rating for Liverpool hotels from TA and I have to say it rightly deserved to be the top hotel in Liverpool. It is located very near to Liverpool One shopping and eating places. It is also nearby to Lime Street train station. When I arrived at the train station, I took a cab to the hotel and only realized then that it was not far. Thus when I went back the next day, I decided to walk to the station to catch my train back to London. It is also within walking distance to the beautiful Albert Dock area, one of the best waterfront scenery I have ever seen.
When I arrived at the hotel, from the outside it has the look of a simple old block of building but once I was inside the building, it has modern and contemporary design interior which I like very much. Stayed at a single room no 104 where the room has the same concept of contemporary with modern fittings and accessories. The room was clean and surprised it even has a kitchenette. Best of all, it provide free Wi-Fi which works very well inside the room.
Staffs the reception counter were friendly and helpful, especially Damian. He checked out the correct bus for me to use from the town center for my visit to Liverpool Football Club. He also had entertained all my questions about Liverpool town and went the extra mile by providing some additional information.
Overall I am very pleased with my brief stay in this hotel would stay in this hotel again if I ever go back to Liverpool. Very good value for money spends for my one night stay for the comfort, location, the room size and friendliness of the staffs.

“Fantastic aparment in an ideal location.”

The apartments offer fabulous, spacious accommodation in the heart of Liverpool They are an ideal base for anyone wishing to explore the city centre.
The apartments have recently been renovated and as such offer a good quality, clean and modern environment. Unlike many hotels in Liverpool the security is strict, requiring entry keys to access the building and lifts. The staff are polite and helpful. The hotel is quiet and guests are expected to show respect to others. Hence it is ideal for both business and pleasure.

    “Brilliant hotel, definately coming back!!!”

This hotel was AMAZING. I've just come back from a hen-weekend and we stayed here. The hotel was situated right in the heart of everything, shops, bars restaurants etc, it was brilliant. Our room number was 002 and I shall definately be coming back to this room, we had an UPSTAIRS, with two single beds and downstairs with a double bed, our own kitchenette with microwave, kettle, fridge etc. We even had floor to ceiling curtains that were operated electronically and air-conditioning.
I'm coming back soon to this hotel and bringing my family, and I would DEFINATELY recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fabulous place to stay in Liverpool.

    “5 starts, well deserved”

base2Stay is very new, having opened only in 2010. The hotel is in an industrial building from the middle of the 19th century, which has been spectacularly renovated. If you want to know just how spectacularly, look up the address in Google Street View and you will see the building in its pre-renovation state. Incidentally: on Street View the whole of Seel Street and environs look rather depressing but don't let this worry you. The images apparently date from just before Liverpool's turn as European Capital of Culture in 2008 and the area looks very much better now.
The hotel announces itself as "located in the beating heart of Liverpool" and that is perfectly true. Bars, restaurants and clubs are literally round the corner and the area gets very busy on weekend nights. With a room on the ground floor looking out on a side street we were expecting a lot of noise during the night, but the sound proofing is so good that the hotel might just as well be on a remote mountaintop. The hotel has neither restaurant nor bar (which makes sense in this neighbourhood); breakfast can be ordered from a nearby cafe and they will deliver it to your room. We preferred going out for breakfast: there are plenty of places nearby (many of them listed on the hotel website) but keep in mind they only open at 10 AM. If you want your breakfast earlier, ordering it in the room is the only option. The rooms also have a kitchenette and fridge.
We had a Gallery Studio (double-height studio for 3-4 persons) so we can't really say anything about the standard rooms. The equipment is very modern (figuring out the remote control of the curtains was a bit of a challenge) and the room was impeccably clean. The reception staff were efficient and extremely friendly. We stayed for 2 nights in the second half of July. The room price (for 3 persons) was £159 per night.
The main sights are within walking distance (and not being much of a walking person when I say "walking distance" I *mean* "walking distance): main shopping streets 5 minutes, waterfront and Liverpool One about 10 min, the cathedrals 15 min. If you arrive by car you can use the Q-Park, which is only about 150 metres away and is clean and well-lit. The hotel has an arrangement with them and you can park for £ 9.50 per 24 hours.
This review may sound like a sponsored ad, but no - we were paying guests and the above is my honest opinion. base2Stay gets 5 stars all round and I will gladly stay there again.

    “Loved it!”

We have just returned from a 2 night stay here whilst attending our son's graduation. As he lived in this area whilst studying, we know and love it for its character and vibrant atmosphere, so had no hesitation in booking this hotel Yes, it is a converted warehouse, but that's part of its charm. Surely it's better to convert these old buildings rather than pull them down and put up some characterless monstrosity? If you want glass and chrome, book somewhere else! The area doesn't look the best, but I suppose we're used to it from our many visits and know there is no problem. It is a city centre after all. Please don't be put off; Liverpool is a fantastic place, with the most amazing people and this is a great part of the city.
The staff looked very smart in their understated suits and black T shirts and were so friendly and helpful. The room on the 4th floor contained the original beams and was spotless. We had no problems with the a/c, but do agree that it would be nice to leave it on when the room is empty. However, the hotel is trying hard to be as environmentally friendly as possible, so can see why they operate the keycard system. The room soon cooled down, so we didn't consider it a big deal.
For a city centre hotel, it was remarkably quiet at night. The bars of Slater St and Wood St are just around the corner, but we didn't hear any noise.
As we didn't have time to go out for breakfast, we ordered the breakfast delivery from FACT, just bacon sandwiches and juice, and it was very quick and still hot when it arrived. There are lots of places to eat nearby, including Maggie Mays on Bold St which serves a good plate of scouse. For a nice, reasonably-priced evening meal, try the Clove Hitch near the Philharmonic Hall, and order a bottle of their house red...a really soft and fruity Merlot.
If you come to Liverpool, don't stay anywhere else.

I had two twin rooms to visit the city for my daughters graduation. Have stayed at other hotels but this is undoubtedly the nicest and best value you can get. Clean modern rooms within what appears to be a convereted warehouse with very solid walls and exposed original features. There is a mini kitchen with a microwave, kettle and fridge which is ideal for breakfast. Flat screen tv with full internet access and the wireless works perfectly with no codes needed. There is no in house restaurant and just one large public room with some interesting art and two computers which guets can use. Feels very secure and there is a car park 2 minutes walk (Q Park) which the hotel has a deal with which is £9.50 for 24 hours. There is a large Tesco next to the Q-Park so it couldn't be a better spot. Highly recommended.

This is great value for such a central hotel. It is a pleasant surprise to be staying somewhere which seems to be undercharging for what they are providing!
Our room was massive - we got a split-level 'studio' room, but the name is pretty misleading - I was expecting it to be very compact but it was really two large bedrooms in one. It worked very well for our toddler as she felt she had a room to herself, but we were a floor up and overlooking her.

I stayed in a single room, which I was quite happy with. Good bed, tv, and excellent shower facilities. Also nice to be able to make tea and coffee in the room when wanted.
It is very centrally located for anything you might want to do in Liverpool. The area around the hotel itself is popular with large numbers of stag and hen parties, being in the nightclub part of the city. But we found the rooms well soundproofed so no problems with noise. And the hotel itself is very well run.

    “Cool digs!”

I was looking for a hotel that would be close to everything yet not too expensive. Base2Stay had come up as an option, however, when I checked online, the room size that would've suited us best didn't come up as an option. So I sent an e-mail asking if by any chance the desired room was available. I was surprised to have the manager, Andrea Burton, actually respond. After e-mail tag, I got the requested room. But they didn't just take my reservation, they went several steps further. I mentioned places that we were interested in visiting so they helped by providing a suggested itenerary. When the adapter we brought to use in England didn't work, they provided detailed directions to the electronics store to buy the adapter needed. The front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure we got to the places we wanted to get to. But enough about the service which was definitely 4 star worthy. The room was loft style and each person had their own comfortable bed. The design was sleek and modern. And the bathrooms, oh my! The lobby was uber cool with an espresso machine available to make a fresh cup any time which we did while logged on to the two computers made available for the guests' use. They did not have kitchen facilities but they made arrangements with several area restaurants to provide discounts which we took advantage of. After our stay at the Liverpool location, I really regretted that they did not have rooms available for our London leg of the trip. In fact they spoiled us as the 2 subsequent hotels weren't quite Base2Stay.

    “Excellent”

I stayed in this hotel from 20-22 June while I was attending a conference.
The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the main, large shopping district in Liverpool, as well as Liverpool One. All areas of interests were easily walkable. In fact, directly behind the hotel was concert square, where a selection of hip and funky bars and nightclubs were. I had a drink in one or two of these places and found it very pleasant. I was told the rooms were triple glazed for noise insulation and true to their word, I did not hear a squeak at night. Seel street itself was not a very pleasant street, but then the proximity ofthe hotel to these more developed bars etc more than made up for it. The distance to the Arena/BT Convention Center was a bit further away, and took a comfortable and scenic 10-15 minute walk as you go through Liverpool One, Hilton and the Harbourfront.
The room I had (room 403) was a superior single room and it was comfortable, air-conditioned and well-furnished with a clean and functioning shower etc. There was free wifi which I found very useful. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but room service could be catered and dellivered to your doorstep for a very reasonable price from externally sourced restaurants. I did not avail of this and so cannot comment on the same. The bed was soft and comfortable and they provided three soft and comfortable, good quality pillows which was great.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I could not fault their services anywhere. For a hotel standard with the matching service that Base2stay had delivered, I would have expected to pay twice the price I was given.
I would highly recommend this hotel in Liverpool for both business and tourists alike.

    “Great hotel in great location”

Loved everything about the hotel and perfect for the business traveller or leisure visitor. Everything is modern, room was spacious (double) and price was very good. Breakfast delivered to the room from FACT in the morning so you do have to plan the ordering as there is a 30 minute wait but apart from that, staff were helpful and it is a fantastic location - loads of nice bars around Seel Street and about 2 mins walk from city centre, 10 mins walk from Lime Street station, and 10 mins walk from University of Liverpool.

“Exceeds expectations for the price you pay”

The hotel is in a superb location...walking distance from city centre. It's very clean, modern and inviting. All members if staff were pleasant and went beyond the call of duty to provide help and assistance with any queries I had. I'm glad I managed to get johns name as he was particularly helpful and friendly towards me and other customers. The decor is very sleek and contemporary. It's a shame, however, that there wasn't a bar inside but there were lots of nice pubs around and the hotel is situated right next to tescos for all your essentials. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and will be visiting again in the future.

    “Smart, sleek, comfortable.”

Great 2 night's stay. Fantastic service. First room had two single beds instead of a double, but they moved us straight away. Loved the colour scheme. Very classy. Comfortable bed. some kitchen supplies, including a microwave, which is great if you want to save a bit by cooking your own lunch.
Easy walking distance to shops and attractions. Parking is costly, but the secured parking garage is well run and worth the money. You do get a bit of a discount from the hotel, but at £9 per day it's still expensive. It is central Liverpool, though... so what do you expect?
Nice lounge downstairs. Free nespresso coffee was a nice touch, but they didn't have many choices.Interesting coffee books. Free wifi and computers with internet in the lounge. Also loved that they had an ice machine. We got a fantastic rate (50%), so it was great value for us.

    “Fantastic”

What a find - Amazing value - was there on a corporate trip and our rate was extraordinary. Less than the price of a curry for 2 in London. Welcoming staff, beautiful room, spotlessly clean - I mean immaculate - high quality fittings ( Duravit bathroom fittings, Samsung Plasma TV), free wi fi in the rooms; great public spaces. Ok no frills but felt like having a really great city centre pied a terre, complete with Nespresso Machine in the downstairs lobby area. brilliant - can't reccomend it enough. This is the future of hotels.

“Always excellent and great value for money”

I regularly spend single might stays at Base2stay in Liverpool when on business. Simply, but trendily decorated, it has all that one needs without the silly "extras" that so push up many hotel prices. The built in mini-kitchens are great for people who prefer to prepare some of their own meals and, as the hotel is within easy walking distance of may of Liverpool's restaurants, the lack of an in-house restaurant is no loss at all.
Rooms are always scrupulously clean and the staff very friendly and professional - above all the double double-glazing makes the rooms very quiet - highly recomended!

10 of us on a Hen Party arrived at Base to Stay at 12.00pm and were very happy to find 4 out of the 5 rooms booked were ready check in is not until 2.00pm). Rooms are spotless, staff are more than helpful and extremely welcoming. Hotel is very central, 5 mins walk to Albert Docks, few bars nearby and Matthew street about 10 mins away. There is no bar or restaurant however breakfast can be ordered in and arrived within 20 mins and the nearest bar took 1 minute to get to - Brilliant hotel.

Base2Stay epitomizes everything a hotel should be : cool, clean, contemporary, friendly and bang in the centre of a young and hip city-centre ! The rooms are all new, the mattresses and sheets super clean and the TV offers over 50 national and international channels including loads of movies on demand. You also get a fully loaded kitchenette with mod-cons. Add to this free wi-fi internet, a friendly staff at the reception and a funky lobby area…this is more than anyone can ask for under 100 pounds !

I really enjoyed my stay at Base2stay Liverpool, I love the city of Liverpool and the hotel is in a great spot to easily see all what the city has to offer. When I arrived at the hotel I was made to feel welcome immediately by the young man on reception, again this service was continued throughout my stay. I found one of our maids to be particulary helpful when I asked if I could have more teabags and milk, Hannah couldnt do enough to help. I asked her where was a good place to go out in the area and she suggested to go out and eat, and that I could get discount for some places through reception. I found the hotel had all the necessities I needed, especially with having my own kitchenette, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. When i return to Liverpool I wouldnt hesitate to stay in this hotel again. Great service!

No wonder it is called a boutique hotel as I could not fault anything. The Staff were the most pleasant people you could ever meet and the hotel has been made to a very high standard. We would class it as a 5 star accomodation which a lot of thought has gone into the arranging of rooms and facilities within. Kitchen excellent, Toilet/Shower area brilliant, free Internet and free safe for your personal belongings and hdtv with multi channels. You can even order meals which can be delivered to your door within 30 minutes. We booked Jackies Beatles Tour, to pick us up at the base2stay, which I must say was absolutely brilliant, you can book her on the internet, which she is the guide along with Richard, the driver, in a luxury people carrier, highly recommend. Will definitely be back again. Well done Base2stay and Jackie.

Upon entry, I was warmly welcomed by Heather Bradley and Patricia Campos who not only met my basic requirements but additional needs such as restaurant recommendation and printing a document. “Great Hotel for Business and/or Leisure”
The Hotel was so central, near shops, all types of restaurants and the commercial area that we were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel obviously selects it reception staff for their friendliness and efficiency so you will feel very welcome there. This new Hotel is properly soundproofed so you can hear no noise of any kind from outside. The safe in the bedroom was essential for passports etc.
I had forgotten my iPhone and there were 3 Internet computers in a lounge beside reception and there was always one available. There is also a Wi-Fi keyboard in the bedroom, which also allows you to use the TV for the Internet. I needed the Internet and this satisfied my requirements 100% and it saved a lot of time and frustration. Local phone calls are also free for up to 30 minutes. The business area is very near the Hotel.
Liverpool is a lovely city. It has its Shopping Centres all nearby in the city centre and not on the outskirts. This made shopping more pleasurable. There is a great variety of top quality restaurants nearby and also wine bars.
This was essentially a 3-day business trip for us, and 4 days leisure. We had planned to hire a car but decided to use public transport instead and visited Chester, The Wirrall and Southport. Liverpool Central and Lime Street stations are just a few minutes walk away and trains seem to run every 15 minutes. This clean, modern and friendly hotel is a blueprint for the future. We will hopefully be returning in July for another enjoyable stay.

“YOU CAN'T BEAT THE QUALITY AT THE PRICE”
There isn't anything I can say against this hotel. Everything from the warmth of the welcome to the quality of the room, the in room entertainment (which includes an extensive music library and all films for £1.95 ), the free in room internet to the location which is close to Lime Street Stn and surrounded by mostly good qulity bars and restaurants, has been designed/chosen with care and attention to detail. The hotel is a great example of creating a contemporay space within a period property and the two have been blended seemingly effortlessly. The price for the quality was excellent, and although there is no room service or restaurant the Hotel has agreed enhanced rates with a plenty of local resturants, suppliers, etc, which include having a cooked breakfast delivered to your room. There is a mini kitchen in the room cleverly concealed within a cuboard and includes a fridge, microwave and plenty of good sized glasses, mugs, crockery, etc. So a stop off at a local supermarket on the way should provide you with all your favourite snacks and refreshments you need without paying mini bar and room service prices. This is excellent quality for the price and has to be experinced to be believed.

It had the best selection of Tv channels than in any hotel that I've been in . The staff were friendly and helpfull . The location was only two minutes from the shops and the concert we went to at the Liverpool Leaf. Free coffee in the lounge . Decor was modern and pleasing to the eye. The kitchen and microwave in the room ideal. Could not fault the place. Bathroom was huge with a wet room concept.
discounts to eating out and parking. Will definately stay again.

    “Fantastic Hotel!”
We stayed at base2stay for two nights two weeks ago and it was wonderful. Our room was on the top floor w/a wonderful skylight in the sloped roof and the exposed beams that were left intact when they remodeled the old building into a hotel. Comfortable bed with soft linens and a very innovative, efficient use of space. One wall had sliding doors and cleverly hidden behind them were shelves and a small built-in kitchen w/microwave, sink, kettle for coffee and cutlery. The bathroom was not overly large but perfectly appointed. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and there's two computers in the lobby you can use as well as a wonderful coffee machine.
The best thing about our stay was Darren at the front desk. Before we ever got there, he was helpful and once we arrived, he was so friendly and informative. He is a gem and I hope he gets the recognition he so richly deserves for being an outstanding employee! We would definitley visit Liverpool again as there is so much to see and would most certainly stay at base2stay again.

“Luxury hotel standard at a budget hotel pricepoint with rooms packed with useful extras. Fantastic!”
Can hardly say enough good things about this concept. Friendly and very professional and helpful staff set the scene on entering the stylish reception area decked out with contemporary art and Le Corbusier inspired furnishings. The rooms are impeccably clean well thought out. The mini-kitchen in each one comes complete with fridge, microwave and enough crockery, glassware and cutlery to make it incredibly useful. There is a Tesco just a one minute walk away for supplies.
I am someone often bewitched with the luxury promise and unique appeal of 'boutique' hotel but also appreciate how some of the big hotel chains are successful because they deliver service and standards to a consistently high standard. For my money, base2stay is a fabulous combination of reliable high standards (no shabby chic here - everything shiny and new) and the feeling that you are getting something stylish and a bit special. All this for an incredibly reasonable price. When next I need to stay in Liverpool I'll be back to this hotel for more.

It is perfectly situated near the centre of town, walking distance from Albert Docks and ALL the Beatles attractions and tours, the Cavern, The Grapes, the Jacaranda, the ferry, the museums, shopping centre, a multitude of restaurants and attractions, pubs and clubs, And it is such value for money with the most friendly of staff. We liked the bathroom which was super modern and really well equipped.
We didn't like the parking which was at a multi storey car park at the bottom of the street.
we did like the double glazed windows which left the street noise at street level. The rooms where airconditioned so there was no need to look to open windows. Weloved the fee Wi Fi provided which was a massive help in planning our itinerary.

    “I loved this place”

Being part of the hotel industry myself I always check Trip Advisor to read some reviews before booking a room. That's why I booked Base2Stay and, honestly, it was a great decision.
The room was beautiful, just like the pictures on their website. It was super clean and kept like that during my stay. I didn't want to order breakfast, so I used the mini-kitchen they have to store my food, and the day after all the cutlery was washed / changed and everything spotless again, so thumbs up housekeeping!
The reception team was polite at all times and very helpful. They even offered to print a document for me, as there is no business center. It's that sort of things that saves you time and money and make you appreciate a place more.
Probably the best thing is the value you get for the money you pay. Of course it's not 5* luxury, but I didn't mind not having a minibar or a breakfast buffet.... the vending machines were not expensive and there's a tesco (supermarket) 200m from the hotel.
The only problem I find is that, although being centrally located, it's not very easy to find, at least not to me. I had to ask a couple of times and took me around 20 minutes from Lime Street Station (it's only a 5-7 minute walk once you know the way). But just have a look in google maps before going, it should be OK. Otherwise it's really a great place and I would totally come back ( it was actually sad for me to leave my room, i really really liked it =P)

    “Great stay in central location”

Stayed here a couple of days ago with my boyfriend. I graduated from Liverpool uni a few years ago and wanted to show him how great the city is so we came up for 2 days to wine and dine and wanted a central location without a hefty pricetag.
Base2stay was the perfect choice for us as it is just a stone's throw away from all the bars and clubs but what we had not anticipated is just how smart and high end the hotel would look and how well it would operate.
Our room came with a flatscreen tv, mini kitchen, a normal hairdryer that you can plug in where you want (!) and a lovely large shower. The room was very modern offering all you need for comfort and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Both myself and my boyfriend were extremely impressed by the standards considering the room cost us £69 a night. We are definitely going to come back here next time as for the price paid you really get a great deal and excellent location!

I stayed at base2stay with my lovely girlfriend last night and thought the whole hotel was absolutely brilliant for the money! It cost around £70 to stay the night and our room was located at the top of the hotel, with a very nice roof window and all the mod-cons!
The staff where genuinely welcoming and very friendly, the place was extremely clean and very well furnished! The location is ideal for those who wish to enjoy the nightlife as Cream is just up the road with Circus/Chibuku etc going on all night and plenty of Bars to choose from, the only downside is that if you are after a quiet get away then this hotel is not in the ideal location as it can be loud at night...
I was also very impressed with the discount vouchers we received for the local restaurants - we ate at Alma De Cuba and it was amazing!

Arrived at the hotel (11am) having walked from Lime Street Station. Booking details were available at reception. Our room was being made ready (booking did say not to expect the room until 2pm). Receptionist marked our luggage, stowed it in a locked room and then answered our questions about a city sightseeing tour.
We returned at 4.30pm, deluxe room ready for us to occupy. Excellent room, very tastefully furnished, lovely shower/bathroom,free internet access via TV and the very useful kitchenette.
The hotel is ideally situated, within walking distance of Albert Docks, Chinatown, the Anglican & Catholic Cathedrals, Liverpool 1 shopping complex and The Cavern Club.

Great room - really clean, free Wi-Fi, TV, Microwave, fridge (not that we used any of them but cool to have). Really secure hotel - keycards to enter lobby and lifts. Fantastic area, loads of bars and clubs near by, couldn't hear anything from room which was good when we finally went back to the hotel. Would be great for business too - plenty of eating areas close by if you were on your own. Great car park just down the road, £9 for 24 hrs, very secure.

The hotel is very secure and I heard no noise in the corridors and had a very restful stay, The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the kitchen area is great and gives you far more flexibilty. Tesco is a few minutes walk away and is open long hours. The rooms are decorated in a very peaceful colour and is exactly as it looks on the internet site, lovely new and clean. I will certainly return in the near future.

“beautiful, old, industrial, red brick building and spotless, high quality rooms”

Extremely welcoming staff (bravo!), this hotel is very well situated in the heart of Liverpool, two street corners away from the Albert Dock. Very atmospheric building which reflects the spirit of Liverpool (industrial, European, cosmopolitan, modern and old at the same time). The rooms are perfect - simple luxury. We highly recommend this hotel.

    “What a great find!”

We haven't been to Liverpool for ages, and found it transformed and a reall excellent short break destination.
The base2stay has been open less than a year, but ticks just about all the boxes. It is very well situated, with an easy stroll to the shops in LiverpoolOne, the cathedrals, the Pierhead, Tate Liverpool and the Walker Gallery. It is immaculately clean, has excellent free coffee and charming staff. Air conditioned of course, and wonderfully quiet considering that it is the middle of clubland.
We weren't too keen on the recommended Franklins at FACT breakfast (no restaurant in the hotel), but no doubt there are alternatives available. On the other hand, within five minutes walk there is Il Forno, which we reckoned to be the best Italian resaurant we've eaten at outside Italy itself.Don't miss it.
Parking is nearby at a special rate for hotel residents, and works out about £10 for 24 hours.
The acid test is always whether or not one would return to a hotel, isn't it? We'd go back to base2stay with enthusiasm!

    “Brilliant!”

Recently stayed in base2stay in Liverpool and would definitely recommend it. We had a superior room which was more than ample for 3 adults - twins beds and the chair was made into a bed which was comfortable. There was more than enough space for the three of us, the bathroom was large and it was nice to have kettle/sink/microwave facilities. The hotel was in a great location - near to the shops, restaurants and bars. We didn't hear any noise at all from the bars nearby. The service from the staff in reception was very friendly and helpful. I had first found the hotel on a hotel booking website and the actual hotel's website showed no vacancies, however when I telephoned the hotel directly they had a room available and at a much better price than on the hotel booking website - so ring them directly and see if you can get a bargin as our room was only £198 for 3 ppl for 2 nights!

“Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room and really good value”

I recently spent one night in the liverpool base2stay. On arrival the staff were friendly and explained how everything in the hotel worked well. The room was very nice, very clean and the had everything as described in the hotel description. I also really liked the kitchen facilities, which were very useful when travelling alone. The bed was also very comfy. I felt the hotel provided excellent value for money.

    “Excellent hotel”

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in the week leading up to the Grand National and had a great time. Booked it through Expedia and got a slightly better rate than through the hotel direct. Excellent staff, accommodation and facilities. Decent sized room and bathroom. Bed was kingsize and very comfy. Big wallmounted TV in the room as well. There are a lot of music/dance clubs nearby but we never had any problems with noise (mind you we did stay Monday to Thursday so the area may be noisier at the weekend.) Room had a microwave, kettle, mini-fridge (and free safe, which is a nice touch). As there is a large supermarket at the end of the street we made our own breakfasts before hitting the streets. The hotel offers discounts on secure parking (5 mins walk away) and in some local bars and restaurants (such as 20% of food AND drink). Very handy for Albert Dock, city centre and Liverpool One shopping complex. Would definitely stay there again.

    “A great place to stay”

just returned from 2 nights at the great hotel. i don't think i have stayed in such a spotless hotel for a very very long time. Room was great, spacious, all we needed to lay our heads after exploring Liverpool. The kitchenette area was perfect, and with tesco only a 2 minute walk away, breakfast in our room worked really well. Location wise, spot on for seeing most of the city. we travelled with my in-laws, so we didn't do as much walking as we would normally, but taxi fares were very reasonable we thought. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, a great find.

“Such an unexpectedly beautiful place to stay!”

It doesn't look much from the outside... But inside we were greeted with a friendly reception and then told alittle bit about liverpool. The guy seemed genuinely interested in us and our evening. The hotel looks a bit like an art gallery! Very modern and clean. Our room was fantastic. Nicely decorated, small kitchen like area, bathroom looked new and unused. High ceilings, artwork above the bed head. Tv system has free internet, collection of cheap movies (some aren't even on dvd yet) and their own version of a music library bit like itunes. Its also on the doorstep to liverpool1. Definatly going again!!! Me and my boyfriend loved it!

    “You won't be disappointed!”

My wife and I stayed here one Friday night back in January as part of a 'mini' city break for my birthday. I would not hesitate to come back again.
The building and the rooms are clean and kitted out with contemporary styled furnishings. The staff were helpful and friendly and we checked in and out with minimal fuss. There is no restaurant or bar, but I preferred it that way - hotel food and drink prices are notoriously overpriced and there is a diverse range of food and drinks available in the surrounding area anyway. (You even get a mini kitchen with fridge in your room - we nipped to the nearby Tesco and bought things for breakfast the next morning)
The location is superb, just five minutes walk from the very centre of Liverpool and the very impressive Liverpool One shopping area. There are also numerous bars, cafes, clubs and restaurants dotted around the side streets. Despite being in the middle of all the activity the hotel is surprsingly quiet, and we were not disturbed once from noise outside.
As you will be aware Liverpool itself has many attractions, from the Albert Dock and it's numerous museums (8 minute walk) to the famous football stadiums (try the Anfield tour, 5-10 minute drive) and Base2stay is the perfect place to base yourself while you enjoy the city.
The only slight grumble is the lack of parking at the hotel itself, but there are numerous car parks in the vicinity - I chose an ultra secure one, but it was pricey (£20 for the night) However, there are plenty of good deals on the 'laterooms' website so the £20 wasn't that bad after all, compared to what I saved on the room.
When I go back to Liverpool fior a weekend, I will certainly be booking here again.

I would like to just forward this message of thanks for the warm welcome and service that the hotel gave to us during our short stay and I would like to congratulate each of the companies employees for helping to make our stay in the City of Liverpool most welcome.

I have stayed here twice - once with my partner and the other on my own. Both times were fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to anybody coming out to Liverpool.
Central location which is great! The staff are friendly and will help you out if you have any queries. Wi-fi in the rooms - perfect!
I booked a single room on this occasion and not surprisingly, it was a smaller than the double room we had booked previously. However, the room was nice and clean and the bed was comfy.
Stayed overnight to meet up with friends and would like to thank staff for being so friendly and helpful!

“Best hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying in!”

I couldn't have got any luckier than finding this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, with bars, restaurants and shopping all right in the doorstep. Despite being so central, the room was silent and very peaceful. The hotel was immaculate, and having worked as a housekeeper in a hotel myself in the past, I know high standards. Everything was pristine.
The bed was comfortable and luxurious, and the facilities like the kitchenette were a wonderfully useful addition.
The staff were brilliant, very friendly and welcoming, and always eager to help, even when I was looking for a fast-food restaurant at midnight while dressed in a Katy Perry costume!
I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I will definitely be booking to stay with them on every trip to Liverpool that I make in the future!

“Great location and a hotel with real green policies”

Was looking for a place to stay for a few nights but ideally wanted a "green" hotel that had at least put some thought into it's environmental impact as a business. when i checked out trip advisor and seen this hotel was rated no1 i checked out the website and thought this looks great. It ticked all the right boxes and I just hope they open up more places in other cities because i would definitely stay with this company again. staff were very helpful and i just loved the interior of the hotel as room and the rooms were fab. SO close to all the bars and 5 minute walk to the docks and less to the shops. train and coach station not far either.

“Wow! A hotel based on what customers want and need - why can't they all be like this!”

This is simple. They clearly asked customers what they want and need and then created a concept to deliver just that....not what they thought customers might want. Don't need bar and restaurant - there's massive choice all around. Breakfast can be delivered by local deli if you want it (£5 or £7 depending on your selection) and it's perfect. Great rooms, spacious, comfortable, clean, stylish, practical. The "kitchen in a cupboard" idea is brilliant - not just kettle and power point plus tea/coffee items - there's a sink, microwave, cups, plates, glasses, cutlery, so you can sort your own food/drink if you want. There's a desk, wi-fi, plenty of power sockets where you need them (I just hate hotels where I have to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in to the only socket in the room).
The location is great if you want to experience the real Liverpool. OK, so there's no on-site parking and the new one-way system confuses cab drivers who haven't quite worked out how to find the hotel. But I won't be staying anywhere else in Liverpool in future - or in London, as there's a base2stay in Kensington too. Watch this brand, it desreves to expand and I won't be surprised to see base2stay hotels like this in all major cities within a few years. The key is that the owners have worked out what customers want and need and then created it. Now that's not too hard...but sadly it seldom happens.

    “BEST HOTEL EVER!!”

Went for a girly weekend with my friend last weekend, we travelled by train and it was very easy to locate and find on the map on the booking confimation. It took only 5 minutes to get too which was great. The location was fab, bang in the middle of everything was a real bonus near the shops and had lots of bars and pubs and resteraunts just round the corner. On the first night friday, there was a free bbq going on at The Peacock Bar. The hotel itself was stunning from the interior and our suite. Only disadvantage to the room, was the windows did not open but thankgod there was air-conditioning. The staff were really nice and helpful and i had a great time for the 2 nights i stayed there. Worth visiting again for sure.

    “Fantastic!!”

I literally cannot fault this hotel. On arrival we did have trouble finding it because it's all one way streets. We also had trouble finding a car park (who then tried to charge us over £30 for overnight parking , until we complained!) but that was nothing to do with the hotel itself. The location is excellent, literally a 2 minute walk to concert square (the pub and club central of Liverpool) and 5 minutes to the LiverpoolOne shopping complex. Even though it was so close, you would never guess once you were in the room. It was completely silent! Staff were really friendly and did everything they could to help, they even suggested some places for me to visit because it was my first time in Liverpool. Beautiful, warm reception area and lounge with free espresso machine. Superbly clean, beautiful room with a massive bed and intenet TV (Which was free!!). Even though there was no bar or resturant there was a fantastic little kitchenette with a microvave, counter and sink and plates, cutlery, kettle etc provided. There are so many rooms to choose from too, aswell as single rooms for business travellers they have apartments for families and groups. They also provide discounts at various near-by bars and resturants, which personally, I think is a wonderful idea. Booked from LateRooms for £50 per room per night, absoloute bargain for such a WONDERFUL hotel. I cannot praise it enough.

I booked this hotel as I was very unfamiliar with Liverpool and needed to a central location and did not need extensive facilities or 5 star luxury.
I was very happy with the hotel - My room wasn't big but was perfect for me & had a large fridge, microwave, sink, and a kettle. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. There was a flat screen TV mounted on the wall and I also had free wifi which is very important for me. Outside of my room, the hotel is stylish, very clean & very tidy. The staff were very friendly and check in & out was smooth and easy. My bed was also very comfortable.
The location of the hotel was perfect for me. It was right beside the shopping areas and there are many restaurants and cafes nearby. It is also very easy to find. I took the 500 in from the airport to Liverpool 1 and walked along Hanover St. and found Seel St. which is where the hotel is. There is a Tesco on the intersection of the streets for any bits I needed.

It could have had something for children, like an activity pack, but as we only stayed for one night that wasn't too much of a problem. The large plasma tv was welcome, and bed very comfy. Liked the view of the Liverpool Eye.

The room was perfect- big enough, quiet, comfortable with a huge bed. The staff were friendly, we got a discount to eat nearby and couldn't have asked for closer to the shops.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night at Base2stay and what can I say! Superb room, excellent service, great interior, quality furnishings, this is highly recommended!
The price is reasonable (got it from booking.com) and it is just the place to go back to after a day out in Liverpool! The complimentary Nespresso at the reception is just the icing on the cake!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights whilst on a recent trip to Liverpool. The hotel was central to shops, restaurants and bars. It was very modern but comfortable too. We liked that there was a fridge/microwave in the room. We will definately return for another stay.

“Best Hotel I Have Ever Stayed At”

This was our first trip to Liverpool, as we wanted to discover a new place we'd never been to for a little weekend holiday. I was absolutely amazed by Liverpool - what a great city! Lovely restaurants, beautiful architecture, famous art galleries, fantastic shopping in Liverpool One and really friendly locals. The only thing that topped these during our weekend was our hotel...
Base2stay is the most guest orientated hotel I have ever stayed at. Everything is there to make your stay as comfortable as possible - from the fast and free wifi to the kitchenettes with your own fridge. The flat screen TV is the most advanced feature I have ever seen in a hotel room - loads of channels, ipod-esque music tracks, £1.95 movies, internet access - and all controlled through a smart little wireless keyboard.
The staff were all lovely and really helpful, giving us recommendations to fab restaurants in the area along with exclusive base2stay discount vouchers. We actually ended up saving a lot more money than we thought we were going to spend that weekend, and the price of my room was fantastic value for money. The whole place really does feel like a top 5 star hotel. Our room was spotless every time we arrived from our day out, and the whole place is interior designed to contemporary perfection.
Thank you so much for such a memorable weekend; it was such a pleasure staying at your hotel. My only quip: why isn't there a Base2stay in every city?

“100% satisfication with great service quality price”

Stayed in base2stay Liverpool for 4 night as the base to travel in middle west of UK. near Lime street train station and shopping area. That's helpful for seeking traffic, food or other supplies. Spacious and clean room with safe-box and we can cook some simple food in the room. 100% recommodation for this hotel. Especially the price for a double room is around 80 pounds per night.

“A little gem hidden in the heart of Liverpool”

A very modern hotel outside and inside. We found Liverpool very nice and things we wanted to see and do was in walking distance, the hotel was roughly 10-15mins from the main train station and 5 mins walk from city center.
The room and bathroom is clean and spacious with our own microwave, sink in the wardrobe and very comfy beds. We all enjoyed our stay and Liverpool and would stay here again to the next visit to Liverpool

Base2Stay was excellent. Great staff, clean, free Wi-fi! We went over to see Liverpool FC play Stoke City FC. The kitchenette and the Tescos on the same street meant we could suit ourselves for meals. Very close to Liverpool One. Next time we want to stay for longer so we can spend more time around the city.

“Top quality, centrally located hotel, would definitely go back.”

Stayed here for 2 nights from the 25th of January, got a great deal of £49 for each night which was worth it for location alone.
Located minutes from the Liverpool ONE shopping centre and the Albert Docks area it's an ideal location for pretty much all of Liverpool being close to the bust and train stations too.
The room had plenty of space and was imacculate, it had a fridge and a micro on top of the normal kettle which you don't often find in some of the more expensive hotels.
The free wireless internet was a big plus too.
Would definitely come back here the next time I vist.

“A standard by which other hotels should be judged”

An attractive refurbishment of an industrial building very close to the Liverpool One Centre. If there is anywhere better I'd be surprised- we had no complaints and were delighted with the accomodation and the value for money. The room was immaculate with even a kitchenette with sink and microwave, very comfortable bed, big bathroom, everything very clean, triple(?) glazing to keep out any noise. Staff are truly exceptional- friendly, endlessly helpful and accommodating. The room appeared well soundproofed although we did have a problem with a very loud TV next door, which the staff sorted out immediatley and without question. No breakfast room- it can be ordered in from a local restaurant, but there seems little point as there are so many excellent cafes nearby, though they do not always open up early. We were on a Christmas-New Year week deal and so felt it was very reasonable indeed at £80.

“Not a bad word to say about this hotel.”

Best hotel I've ever stayed in, got a great deal on late rooms and managed to get a 2 night weekend stay in a superior room for just under 200 pounds, this is more than i would usually pay for a weekend away but it was a special occasion and the price really wasnt bad for what we got. The hotel is modern, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the hotel is very secure as you need your room key just to get in the front door and to use the lifts. The room was beautiful and immaculate and the television was great as it had on all of the local restaurants/bars etc which was a great help as we were in the city for the first time.
The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk from all the city centre but around the hotel is quiet so you get the best of both worlds.
I cant reccomend this hotel highly enough!

Beautiful hotel and beautiful clean rooms. Location is fanastic (directly behind the square). Traveled with 7 other girls for a birthday weekend. kitchen came in handy as we did a little spread befor we went out. TV came in great as you can choose from 100 albums to play whilst your getting ready. Very good sound proofing didnt hear anything at all. Only negative I can think of is the size of the sofa beds. There very small. Securitys good as you must have a card to enter the building. WOULD RECOMNED THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE. Will definatly be comming back soon. Thank you to all the staff.

    “EXECELLENT ALL ROUND HOTEL”

My husband & I stayed at this hotel, booking the double room. Firstly may i say that i'm extremely particular when it comes to hygiene! & usually find a fault with any hotel that i've stayed in, however base2stay won me over with their immaculately clean rooms! I can honestly say that it was a pleasure to sleep in their bed & use their shower & linen!
The reception area is very modern, we were greeted by a very nice, polite & professional young lady who checked us into our room in about 2 minutes. Secure card keys are given, which i like.
The room was spacious enough for 2 people. With a television, phone, interenet etc. You also receive 30 minutes of local calls absolutely free! Nice sized wardrobe with an array of hangers & what i was most impressed with was an in-room safe. The bathroom is big with complimentary toiletries, lovely thick soft towels & professional style hairdryer, The shower has a big enclosure with nice soft water.
There is a kitchenette, equipped with everything that you need if you wish to make a meal (microwave) Complimentary, fairtrade teabags & sachets of coffee & sugar are provided, oh & there is a fridge. So if you like me & the first thing you do is make a cup of tea, then bring a pint of milk or send your other half down to the Tesco which is about 3 minutes walk away.
The guest guide book is the best i've ever seen, they really have catered for everything & everyone in this guide! In my opinion, if you can not find what your looking for in that guide, then you must be an alien!
I was really impressed with how green this hotel is with its smaller water tanks & energy saving power.
Dont be put of by the fact that there isn't any restaurant, as there is lots of cafe's & places to go with-in walking distance, that offer discounts to guests of the hotel. Or you can ask reception to order your food for you & they will bring it to your room or you can collect from reception, your choice.
I would definately recommend base2stay to all my family & friends & we are already going to book another stay but in the Kensington hotel.
Thankyou for a really pleasant stay & well done to all the staff at base2stay.

We stayed in the gallery room, and it was amazing. The upstairs had two twins that could be pushed together to make a king, and the downstairs had a pullout sofa. The bathroom was lovely, and there were two nice flat screens with tv and internet. And free Wifi! And a wet bar. Very cool, modern, nice location, and very nice staff. If you can find affordable rates on discount sites, it is definitely worth the stay. I would do it again.

    “Excellent value for money”

I booked base2stay last minute as I was going for a night out around Seel Street and the price was so cheap compared to certain budget chain hotels.
The location was perfect for what I wanted to do. The hotel was clean and modern, although if I was staying more than one night sharing with somebody else and used the kitchenette for meals it could have been a little claustrophobic as there wasn't much space around the bed.
The staff were helpful, especially when my door lock didn't work, they sorted it out straight away even fitting around my plans.
I would definitely stay here again.

“fantastic location, fantastic staff, fantastic stay!”

We stayed with friends (celebrating a 40th birthday) and the hotel managed to make our rooms available early. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing some pointers around where to go in the evening (even getting us on the guest list at Alma De Cuba).
Location wise, if you like a good night out then you couldn't be better situated. All the popular bars and clubs within staggering distance but once inside the hotel, it's blissful and tranquil.
The offering for breakfast works well, you can order from a number of local cafe's and have it delivered to your room. Alternatively there are many options just a short walk away.
Can't rate this hotel highly enough!

    “Excellent hotel - very pleased”

I took a trip up to Liverpool (26th January 2011) to watch the football with a friend. I booked the hotel online. I emailed them to ask for requirements for the room and they were very easy and nice to deal with. Great start.
As soon as you walk in you notice it is very clean, modern and the staff are very polite and friendly. We felt like we were being treated really well, everything was 10/10.
The rooms were no different to the rest of the hotel - all together excellent. You can tell they have put effort into it and really want their customers to have the best experience.
I cannot say much i enjoyed staying here even though it was just for one night - if I ever go back to Liverpool I will be staying here. I've even forgotten to mention the price. We payed £45 for a double room which is excellent value. Well worth the money.

“4 star hotel at 3 star price”

Reasonable sized double room. Stayed in 411 which has good views of the city. reasonable sized bath. I asked for a room on the upper floors with a bath. The only downside was the new one way system, which made it difficult to get to. Some better directions on the website would be good, although to be fair the one way system has only been operating for a couple of weeks.

    “Great single room, fantastic facilities”

What a great place this is. I can't believe all this came at a price below much of the competition. Large single bed with great cotton sheets and duvet, very clean and stylish interior with stowaway kitchen. The real star of the suite was the fabulous shower room with large rain-shower head and eco toiletries thrown in. Spotlessly clean. I didn't experience the reported noise on the 4th floor, but it was the beginning of the week so maybe Liverpool warms up later in the week. Excellent location in L1 and walking distance to everything I needed (station and University). It's also a short hop away to a Tesco Express where I bought a meal to reheat in the microwave in the bijou kitchenette. Very convenient for a solo business traveller.

Warm, friendly, reception made us feel very welcome & happy with the rooms.
Right in the centre of Liverpool - Location would be brilliant for stag/ hen party crowds.

“Excellent, Reasonable Hotel- one of the best experiences i had.”

Short taxi ride from the station and 10min walk from merseyrail station. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was brilliant value, much better than places i've paid much more for. Having the kitchenette with microwave and fridge in the room not only saved me dining out alone but allowed me to work uninterrupted in the room. TV and entertainment packages were great, big bathroom was a treat and the whole Room was stylish and spacious.
I slept well but could hear the distant sounds of nightclubs mid week so not sure what it would be like on a weekend and the area wasn't the most picturesque but all in all i cannot fault my experience. If heading back to the city i will definitely choose to stay here again.

“A wonderful base for an authentic Liverpool experience”

I took my teenage daughter to Liverpool to attend the Merseyside derby at Anfield. We selected the hotel because of the very good reviews on Tripadvisor and the value for money it offered. We were not disappointed.
It is a very new hotel in a refurbised warehouse that gives it a funky atmosphere. It is located very close to the heart of the city - 5 to 10 minutes walk to Limestreet Station, any amount of shops, Albert Dock, Theatres, pubs and resteraunts.
The rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortably spacious, and modernly decoraated. The large HD TV with free cordless internet access was a major hit with my teenage daughter. The key card system gave a great sense of security. The staff at reception were very pleasant and extremely helpful.

“Best Hotel I have ever stayed at”

Base2Stay Liverpool has been the best hotel experience i have ever had, at check in the member of staff that checked us in (Megan) was extremely friendly and helpful giving us helpful advise on local amienities, places to eat (with up to 20 discount) and attractions.
The security system of the building was extremely reassuring as no one can enter the front doors without a key card or even travel in the lifts! when we arrived in the room it really was amazing; it was scrupulously clean and suprisingly large, the bathroom was massive! I requested a suite with a wet room and a wet room i got, beautifully finished with the best standard of fixtures and fittings and large soft towels, even the complimentary toiletries are worth a mention (puling the bottle out of my toiletries bag and reading the label) with Zero nasties or chemicals they perfectly demonstrate the hotel's attention to detail aswell as their strong environmentally friendly ethic. An absoutely wonderful addition to the room was a small kitchenette complete with microwave, fridge, sink, cutlery, crockery and fairtrade coffee and tea making facilities. These kitchenettes i believe to be in all of the rooms, they are of the highest quality and are kept regularly cleaned by the housekeeping staff, even your washing up is done so there is no need to worry about those dishes!
and there's more! FREE WIFI!! in this day and age i do not understand why some hotels dont have or charge for WiFi so this pleased me greatly. Not only was it free it was high speed! The internet TV made full use of this and offered thousands of music tracks free of charge and movie rentals for only £1.95 per film, oh and you can watch TV on it aswell.
The location of the hotel was perfect for nights out and days shopping alike as well as being 2 seconds from a convienient tesco express and a secure carpark which you can use at a discount!
The decor of the hotel was first rate, modern and clean with glass doors, bright lights and interesting art installations, though the though preserving and proudly displaying the characterful features of the original building, an 1800's factory.
Although the hotel has no resturaunt or bar this is not a problem whatsoever, there are tonnes of places to eat and drink in the surrounding area and also local businesses are in partnership with the hotel
allowing you to order breakfast direct to your door within half an hour at a discount with no hotel mark up!
Overall this hotel is by far the best hotel in Liverpool and id say its up there in the best in the UK with intelligently designed rooms and a lovely atmosphere thanks to the great staff. Enjoy 5 star accomodation without breaking the bank, fantastic value for money, book up and enjoy!

Bright and spotlessly clean bathroom with powerful shower. Great beds and large, quality, flatscreen TVs. Kitchenette in room really useful.

As a regular business traveller this hotel ticks all the right boxes. Firstly it's location is perfect, close to L1, shops, bars, cultural venues and a short stroll to the waterfront. As a conversion of a warehouse, the hotel itself has way more character than most and is stylish and contemporary in design and furnishing.
The rooms are great; modern, uncluttered and a good size. I stayed in a studio room with a double height lounge area. There's a mini kitchen with microwave and a fridge for beer and a large immaculate bathroom.
The whole place is spotless and the staff are really helpful, friendly and welcoming. Add to that incredible value.

A wonderful hotel! Unbelievable location in terms of Liverpool's night life, tourist attractions and shopping district... A short walk from all these main attractions including the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized room for a double, which included all the basic amenities as well as a few extra's (which were helpful as the hotel does not have a bar or restaurant). Clean and comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a great view of the Liverpool sky line from our 4th floor window.

    “Good Base2Stay!”

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my boyfriend and my parents in January 2011. We had two rooms, both of which we equally pleasant.
The location is great... although it is on a sort of "up and coming" street, I couldn't fault the location at all. A five to ten min walk from the Albert Dock and the waterfront and a five minute walk from the newly developed Liverpool One area with plenty of nice shops and lovely restaurants and bars but still nice and quiet in the evening.
The rooms are great - the beds are very comfy and quite large. The room facilities are good too, the TV is large and has free (I think) internet access; the mini kitchen is a great idea too, with cutlery, crockery, a sink and a microwave. There is also a hairdryer in the room. The bathrooms were quite large with a bath and a lovely shower. We had no problems with the heating like other reviewers.
The hotel is very secure - after checking in you are given a key card which you use to get in the hotel and use the lift, as well as getting into your room meaning that only residents can get into the hotel.
There is no restaurant or car park but the hotel makes up for this by giving discounts at local establishments (one advertise that they deliver a breakfast box to your room but we didn't try this). If you park in the Q Car Park at the end of the street you get 24hrs for £9!
Staff were all very friendly and pleasant.
I would stay again if we planned to stay overnight in Liverpool again and I would recommend this hotel for people visiting for both business and pleasure.

We ordered dominos and watched x-factor before we went out and the delivery driver knocked right up to our room with our pizza. Staff are lovely and you can just do your own thing with no fuss. Spotless and very secured with a card to swipe to get in the hotel front door 10/10 can't wait to go back in the new year!!!

"Fab hotel - a boutique travel lodge"

I found this hotel on Alasdair Sawday. Needing somewhere for one night for work it suited me perfectly - It was central, had parking nearby and, as I work for a charity, it was great value. The staff were lovely and so helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

"By far the best hotel you will in Liverpool"
Myself and 15 or so friends were staying in Liverpool for a weekend. Hotel was fantastic! Really can not say enough about how brilliant it was! Staff were amazing, especially Peter at reception. Good discounts with restaurants in town as there is no restaurant in the hotel. Rooms are beautiful! Huge windows and high ceilings. There is a microwave and fridge in the rooms which is very handy! Also the internet access is brilliant. Very close to concert square, where all the great nightlife is, and to all the great shops. Perfect location and even though it is close to the nightlife it is very quiet! I have not one bad thing to say!

    "Cool atmosphere and brilliant value."
The hotel is very well-designed, and if the rooms are quite small, they are terrific value, with everything you want, including fridge and microwave. All the cool new shops are a step away, so it's an excellent choice for exploring LIverpool. I loved the design of the rooms, the reception was friendly and helpful - and that's it. Ten out of ten.

    "central, stylish and practical"
I liked everything about this hotel. The kitchenette was brilliant, and standards throughout were impressive.
But the courteous and friendly staff were the best feature of our stay. I got back home to Dublin a week later to find that I'd left two dresses hanging in the wardrobe of our hotel room. A phone call later, the reception and house keeping staff had located my clothes and posted them to me. Customer service par excellence!

"Worth visiting Liverpool to stay here!"
I came from base2stay in Kensington so arrived with high expectations. The location is as convenient but totally different. It reminded me of parts of New York, where I live, with clubs, bars and restaurants on every corner - some of the best give discounts to base2stay guests! Whilst this clearly made the location perfect for going out, it was a little worrying at first, as I wondered if I would get any sleep. The area really comes to life in the evening, but the vibe is always amazingly friendly. My worries were put to rest, as was I, by the fantastic triple glazing. With a super comfortable bed, it was one of the best night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a contemporary style that works for everyone, but which also brings out the building's history - kudos to the decorator! The look and feel of the hotel is super-trendy, from the wonderfuly renovated industrial building to the cool entrance hall and reception with its interesting art. What is the real surprise is that all of this costs no more that a room at one of the many chain hotels in the city. You also get free Wi-Fi, which I didn't use as I didn't bring my computer, but the internet on TV was the best I've seen - perhaps that's the new generation HD TV? Liverpool is a changed city from my last visit ten years ago. So much development, most of it of a really high standard, too much to do and see on my brief visit. I will have to come back, and of course I'll be staying at base2stay!

Had a wonderful weekend stay in Liverpool at the end of July. The hotel was perfect, superbly finished, designed and staffed. Excellent service and perfectly located. This hotel is borne out of the need for a hotel which gives you all that you need and nothing you don't.

it's my second visit to the hotel , not only are the staff some of the friendliest and most professional in the city , the entire vibe is so homely , it's actually not like staying in a hotel .The decor is stunning but at the same time minimalistic . The suites are homely , with a fridge and microwave in , how thoughtful ! Everyone is so accommodating there , which you don't often get at most Boutique hotels.
5 stars from me , and I AM fussy .....

"Fantastic hotel that rescued us from a bad weekend"
We arrived on late on Friday night after being badly let down by a serviced apartment company. Not only did they have a room but the warm welcome of the receptionist saved our weekend.
The rooms exceeded our expectations and they were spacious and very comfortable. The little kitchen area was a great added bonus.
We were a bit sad that they didnt have 2 rooms for the next night however the staff pulled it out of the bag and offered us one of their gallery apartment rooms.
All of the reception staff were not only efficent but warm and friendly and great fun.
We couldnt have asked for more.
    Just thank you.

    "Family friendly boutique hotel"
Visited Liverpool with my 4 and 6 year old this summer. For a family this hotel is just what you need for a city break. The location is great and the deluxe rooms have plenty of space for a family of four. There is a small kitchen area which is so useful if you want to take your own food. When we arrived we popped down to the local supermarket and got some breakfast for the next couple of days! It's a great concept.....modern spacious rooms, friendly staff and all at a great price. For parents we usually have to pay for facilities like a bar and restaurant that we don't get to use! If you don't want to eat out with the kids you can always go back to the hotel and order in a pizza etc. Loved the hotel just need a few more like this in other cities please......

One of the best places I've stayed in this country, excellent staff, rooms well provisioned, clean and immune from the hustle outside. Didn't hear a soul all weekend either from within the hotel or outside. Within walking distance of all main areas if you are only on foot. Can't say anything bad. Many thanks for making it such a good weekend.

"Eating, drinking, shopping and Beatles...base2stay is the perfect place to start"

The premises are fantastic, modern without destroying the original features. You couldnt ask for a better location right amongst some great bars and resturants. For music fans get yourself to Mojo, for chilled beers and friendly bar staff get yourself to Peacocks. You really dont miss the typical bar or restaurant facilities usually offered by hotels as Liverpool is all about going out and enjoying yourself. The main shopping area is 5-10 mins walk and the Beatles district about 15mins. For some hotel room essentials (Krispy Creme Donuts and Diet Coke) Tesco is 2mins walk from the Hotel door. Forget your typical hotel and try this, great staff, brilliant location and the 'pressure' to go out and about rather than being lazy in a hotel bar :)

    "Overall really nice place"

I thought this was a really nice hotel. It's very tastefully restored and furnished. The area is quite noisy but the windows are triple glazed i think so you can't hear anything. The only small complaint i would have is that you cant open the windows so you invariably have to sleep with the air conditioning on so i got a bit of a dry sore throat, but that's my one and only small complaint. I would definitely return. The staff were really friendly, in particular Peter and Miguel. We arrived late on a Thursday night and were a bit peckish. We asked Peter would he know anywhere to get some food and as he was going out for food for himself, he even offered to get ours for us. We found them both to be genuinely nice, friendly guys and very professional, but at the same time not too formal. There were a few issues with our room cards not working but this may be down to the fact that it's a relatively new hotel and there are bound to be teething problems. As i said above though, I'd definitely return.

"Great service from enquiry to check out"

My husband and I went to Base2Stay a few weeks ago to enquire about rooms for our wedding. The woman at the front desk, Laura, was really nice and helpful and showed us all of the rooms we were interested in booking. We ended up booking the Double Room for the night before our wedding and then the Garden Suite for the wedding night.
We checked in the day before the wedding in to the Double Room which was cozy and comfortable. We loved the decor and the kitchenette served very useful for us. The morning after, we went back to the front desk at around 11:00am to check in to the Garden Suite and one of the ladies that were there automatically helped us get settled in to that room without us even having to ask. The Garden Suite is amazing! It has 2 floors along with a main bathroom and toilet with sink. The garden was absolutely gorgeous and, with the sun out that morning, it looked like a painting. After we checked out the room a bit, we went out to go get some things and stopped by the front desk to ask if they could order us 2 taxis to go to the ceremony. The taxis showed up exactly on time for both my husband and his best man and for me and my bridesmaid. When we got back to the hotel on our wedding night, the 2 men at the front desk wished us congratulations when we walked back to our room.
We had an amazing stay the whole 2 days we were there and everyone there helped to make our wedding day run smoothly while things were hectic. Thank you so much to everyone at Base2Stay Liverpool who helped make our day special! We will definently be coming back! :)

    "Loved it!!"

I have to say that I was really impressed with this hotel. Modern but different, and the location was fantastic. Less than 5 minutes walk to Liverpool one, nightlife, restaurants etc - it would be hard to find a better hotel.
Rooms were fab - clean, comfy and so quiet (even though on a Friday and Saturday night there is lots of noise outside).
Staff were welcoming and friendly - and always willing to help.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel - I know where i'll be staying the next time I go back to Liverpool.

    "Excellent choice in central location"

We only needed the room for 24 hours and this was perfect. Very contemporary room only hotel with exceptionally clean comfortable rooms. It's within easy walking distance of shops, the docks, pubs, clubs, the two cathedrals, in fact most things you would want to see as a visitor to Liverpool. There were quite a few bars and clubs around yet despite this there was no noise through the triple glazed windows (although to be honest I prefer one you can open). Additionally I must say we felt completely safe in the area even at midnight. I'd expected the streets to be full of detritus the following Saturday morning after all the Friday night clubbing but obviously the street cleaners had been out (and we hadn't heard them either!)
The check-in was efficient and very friendly, the security was great (even had to use our room fob to activate the lift) and I like the idea of 24 hour reception even though this is self catering accommodation. There is a large common lounge area with computers and 'coffee table' books.
The standard rooms although relatively small were more than adequate. Quality lined curtains at the window and nicely carpeted. There is individual heating/ac controls, a great wall mounted flat screen tv with good reception and free internet access, radio and very decent music library. Also wifi. Plenty hangers and very good hairdryer in wardrobe. Small but functional kitchen area behind sliding doors with complimentary Fair Trade tea and coffee. There is a microwave cooker and obviously crockery and cutlery (clean and sparkling - yay!)
There a many cafes around for your breakfast but if you want to eat in your room a local cafe will deliver your breakfast to the room within half an hour of ordering and it is very reasonably priced (leaflet in room).
Bathroom is a decent size nicely tiled with shower over full bath and glass shower screen. Ample nice white fluffy towels. Small bottles toiletries.
I think it's a reasonable price for quality city centre rooms even though it's only self catering.

    Luxurious and interesting.
I really rate this hotel. It's very central and the staff are really welcoming. The rooms are big and the beds are comfy. The best thing though is the look and feel of the place. It's a converted warehouse and there is lots of exposed brickwork, but also interesting lighting, adventurous art - even the lifts and doors feel like they have been carefully chosen to add to the ambience. Only downside- no food in the hotel, and while you can order some to arrive at your
room it's a bit of a hassle and pricy too. But I really liked base2stay and would definitely come back.

    "affordable chic in regenerating area"

We liked this area a lot - it was like early Hoxton with a mix of music venues, bars, derelict old warehouses etc. We were told it was developing fast as a result of the interest shown during Capital of Culture year. It was packed on weekend nights - all friendly crowds - but we didn't hear a thing in the hotel - there's double glazing over the old windows. Other guests were quite young, some with clinking bags of bottles.
Our room was great, very well designed, with huge windows looking at the Liverpool skyline.
Breakfast was ordered in and the time-keeping was a bit unreliable. I'd probably go to a cafe another time. The discounts they offer on restaurants were great. Alma de Cuba - an absolutely beautiful converted church - is in the same road and does a Gospel brunch with a gospel group on Sundays which we really enjoyed.
Liverpool One shopping was very close and it was a 10 minute walk to Albert Dock.
The staff were all friendly but very much on front of desk. It felt almost like an apartment block.
I'm pleased we stayed here - it's an area I wouldn't have explored otherwise. And I'd stay again for a weekday break when it's quiet. At weekends, though, I'd stay in the Cultural Quarter another time - if only because I'm a bit middle-aged for the nightlife in this area!

"A no frills luxury hotel, fantastic location and with a relaxed atmosphere"
Spent the August bank holiday in this hotel, absolutely fabulous. Several people checking in at the same time as us, yet there were enough staff to deal with us all.
First night was spent in a Deluxe room, at the front of the hotel with fantastic views over the Mersey. It was like being in our own studio apartment: The room had a huge LCD internet enabled TV, free WIFI that actually worked and worked well. The beds were extremely comfortable. The Deluxe Room had a large bathroom with shower and a discreetly hidden pocket kitchen with cutlery, utensils, glasses and a microwave.
The hotel is well situated within walking distance from Lime Street Station and is on one of the trendier streets of Liverpool with many popular restaurants, bars and clubs although as the hotel benefits from triple glazing no street noise could be heard from our room.
As the hotel was fully booked and we had made a late booking we had to move rooms for the last night. The staff were as always very helpful and moved our bags for us after we had packed up for the room change. We found our Double room to be just as high a standard as the first.
Over the last six years of going to Liverpool we have stayed at the Marriott, the Malmaison, Radission and the Crowne Plaza and found base2stay to be the best hotel we have stayed in.
This is a modern, luxurious NO FRILLS hotel and we thought that this concept is excellent and cant wait to visit again.

I stayed one night at the New base2stay Hotel Liverpool and I have to say that it is fantastically designed and high end specifications. All the materials: the bedrooms, furniture beds kitchenette, bathroom tiles porcelain....everything seems like very high end design and should be priced per night at twice what I paid for it at least! I was there for work and we went out on the town that night. the Hotel is situated in the heart of the nightclub district, but when I went to bed I could not hear a single thing...I slept like a log. "Splendid conversion with sumptuous beds and silent rooms"
This hotel is a wonderfully renovated building in the heart of a concentration of bars and close enough to the shopping centre and the Albert Dock. The building itself has character and provides a solid structure on which the hotel owner has used and built upon to create a fantastic hotel. The conversion is commensurate with a building of this quality, as my room had triple galzing (double and single pane), heavy door, huge curtains, and a large bed - all of considerable quality. I struggle to sleep at the best of times and usually rouse at the slightest disruption, therefore, it was a relief to enter a room which was conductive of sleep, it was even more of a relief as I stayed on a busy and noisy Saturday night with my girlfriend. Indeed, I over-slept and managed to get a late check-out at no extra cost. I would recommend this hotel for it's great location, but more so for it's quiet rooms and comfortable beds.

    "should be renamed UMUSTSTAY"
Just spent five days in this brand new hotel in Liverpool (it opened 1st August 2010.It's located right in the newest trendy district called Liverpool One, right in the heart of the restaurant, bar, music, museum, shopping scene, a really jumping area, no taxis necessary.Just around the corner is an art house cinema with bar and cafe. The Royal Philharmonic Hall, the Beatles (Cavern), the Mersey Ferry etc are all within walking distance. The hotel itself is so comfortable and quiet with reasonable rates and great facilities, from super single rooms (luxury shower so spacious you can almost lay down in it ) to deluxe doubles, some on two levels. Every room has free wi-fi, mini-kitchen, efficient aircon and the reception has the most helpful and friendliest staff I have ever encountered, most of whom are locals so they really can point you in the right direction for everything you want or need. The hotel is located only about five minutes walk from Lime Street train station (London Euston just over two hours), which I did with a heavy suitcase on wheels over nice smooth pavements.Around the corner is Central station with trains to Chester, the Wirral and Wales.
Go quickly and spend a really enjoyable time, not only in a super hotel at reasonable rates but also in the great city of Liverpool.

"Great, homelike experience with base2stay in Liverpool"
I spent last weekend in Liverpool with my friends and it was my second visit the city since I first went there in 2005. I was nicely surprised by the all the changes that the city has undergone in the past 5 years.
I stayed in Base2stay hotel in the heart of the old "rope walks" district just few minutes walk from the Liverpool 1 city centre development. The hotel has just opened and it is a conversion of the old rope factory with preserved brickwork and original beams in side. The service was great and I was made very welcomed by reception stuff, who were friendly and very helpful. My room was cosy and comfortable and I felt like at home as soon as I stepped into bright and clean ensuite with very handy kitchenette. The windows were triple glazed and even though the hotel is surrounded by numerous nightclubs and bars there was no noise coming from outside.
I truly enjoyed my stay in Base2stay and would highly recommend it to anyone who is after pleasant experience and homelike feeling.

    "Overnight stay in base2stay Liverpool"
We've stayed in many hotels in the Liverpool area, Hope Street, Malmaison, Radisson and many more and found Base2Stay was right up there with the best of them. Right from the check in to check out the service we received was friendly and professional. Rooms we spacious and simple things like having cutlery and glasses in the room were a great idea as we've stayed in hotels before in the past where none of this was available and you have to either walk down to the reception or ring up. Films priced a £1.99 are good value as we'd planned to go to the pictures but decided to watch one of them as it was a recent film that we'd missed at the cinema but in the end we both fell asleep! I've already recommended the hotel to a friends and family as its in a great location to enjoy the nightlife in Liverpool then not have to worry about getting a taxi home! Walking distaince to Liverpool One as well as many great restuarants. Rates are very competitive as well compared to the larger hotels.
Wasn't much litterature in the room compared to other hotels, only a questionnaire but in the past had details of offers (some of which we on the TV), room service (I don't think this was available) and free magazines on what's happening in Liverpool.
Thanks for a great night stay.

    "Beautiful base2stay"
    Beautiful Base2Stay!
The historic building with well-selected contemporary art ranging from animation to painting
has got very comfortable rooms with stunning views over the city and a great TV hotel directory located in the vibrant, inspirational and very central Ropewalks district. The very friendly staff took very good care of me and after reading the Yoko Ono and John Lennon story in the bright, cozy and well-designed hotel lobby I can't wait to come back!

    "Lovely new hotel"
We stayed in one of the Deluxe rooms on the 4th floor. It was very well appointed and generously sized. The beds (even the chair beds the kids were on) were comfy and we all slept very well. Liverpool One is 200 yards away at the end of Seel Street. The Duck trip is a great way to see the sights of Liverpool and the Albert Dock.

"Very comfortable and good location, bring food"
The room was clean and comfortable with a tiny kitchen area where microwave meals could be cooked, fridge and tea making facilites in the room also, unfortunately only the bed was available to sit on while eating, slight challenge. The bathroom was a nice size so I couldnt understand why they had installed the smallest bath in the world, a man would not have a pleasant time trying to get in or out. Shower wasn't working properly but I put that down to teething problems as it was the first few days of opening.
The staff were very nice and helpful.

"Trendy, fab location and the best soundproof windows I have come across"
This hotel gives you everything you need be it for business or leisure. Rooms are bright and airy and very comfortable.
Parking is almost outside the front door and the city centre with bars restaurants and nightlife are all minutes away. They have even built a Tesco just around the corner so you can stock up on essentials for your self catering experience!

"Excellent value and good location for shops/restaurants/nightlife"
Friendly and helpful staff, brand new hotel so up to the minute facilities, has mini kitchen area behind sliding door for basic self catering which is handy. Decor is of a high standard. Well located, it is just a short walk to the main shopping area, a wide choice of eating places and bars. Even though it is in the heart of the city, there is no noise disturbance so a good nights sleep is assured. A continental breakfast can be pre-ordered at a small charge, alternatively there are nearby cafes where breakfast is on offer.

    "Cool vibe, excellent location"
One of Liverpool's newest hotels - and a trendy one at that. Big plus points include the convienent location - at the junction and the city's bohemian quarter around Seel Street/Alma De Cuba/FACT and the Liverpool One Shopping Centre. The hotel appears to be a converted warehouse and has pleasing character. Rooms are very comforable, stylish and well equipped, if somewhat compact. Given its proximixty to clubbing heart of thje city did wonder about noise but wasn't an issue - very well sound proofed. Hotel has a pleasingly private and exclusive feel and for regular business travellers make a refreshing change from the bed factories (Travelodge etc) that are all too common. Also top marks for great TV and free web access in the room.
